TALKING TIP OF THE MONTH

Name items and pictures that your child is looking at


Children have an increased ability to learn new words when we are talking about something that has already grabbed their attention.


Take a moment to observe what your child has naturally looked at. Then talk about the item they are interested in. You could name it, talk about an action, and use some describing words. For example, if your child has noticed a worm on the pavement, you could say "worm...it's a long worm...it's wriggling".
